#3 especially is right on the money. Way back in highschool, I threw myself at one particular girl, and made it very obvious I was in love with her. I (patheticly) begged her to date me. While we were best of friends, no boot knocking for spentagn. Only after I said 'fuck it' and dated other girls did she become interested. Now we're married.
