If i have been having lower back pain for almost two years...(not unbearable but its not easy to deal with when working out always)...and i get it checked out and the doctor tells me that its just probably muscle tightness, isnt this guy a little off MAYBE? i mean two year ive had muscle tightness?

has anyone else experienced a long term lower back pain and what did your injury turn out to be?

Get an x-ray

I had back pains like you described, then one day slipped a disk doing squats. Nasty...never really heals. When I had an x-ray done, I noticed that my spine was curved. Now this is not abnormal- many people have a slight curvature of the spine(, anything over a 15 degree angle is something that may need attention, possibly surgery(scoliosis) .
The doctor didnt seem concerned, but I have this hypothesis:
if your spine is curved, even slightly, then you are at greater risk when it comes to back injuries - exercises that require spinal support, like squats, bent rows, deads, etc, should be done very carefully, or avoided, if you dont want to end up with a herniated disk and real back problems. I do leg presses, hack squats, bent rows(just reinjured my backdoing them with 305 last night), light deadlifts....never, ever, jerked the weight on these exercises.

Get x-rays done.

actaully i had x rays done and the guy thinking he couldnt be wrong all he said was that He didnt see anything too drastic yeah me being pretty young still 16 i figured he didnt actaully think anything could possibly be wrong...what a little bitch

Yep.

L-1 L-2 both rotated to about 30 out of synch......laid of the back work and back is terribly weak......started from a dead scratch doing lower abd work, hypers, rev hypers and now deads......back is better than ever

Back problems are horrible!!!!

Light weights, no aches, no medals.

I've had lower back problems for 11 months now. Turns out I was born with an extra lumbar vertabrae. Went to a chiropractor for 2 mos, which did fuck all. No doctor has told me much after many many x rays. Going to see a orthopedists on tues after waiting for 3 mos,. Maybe then I can get back to deads and squats, bc I feel sooooooo weak !!:( :(

ive had tight back muscles and pain for 1 year now...
jsut make sure you do back stretches every morning and night if you can be bothered.. that will help
yeh and no heavy back exercises
im 18 now.. but 17 when it started. it sucks, back pain is for old people.

I go to a chiropractor 2x a month and a message therapst once a month because of lifting heavy - if your ins. co. pays for it its worth going to. Once your back is messed up you can forget up ever lifting again.

Try this. Go to

http://www.lifeservices.com/autogen...?pid=/autogen/ezs-85-radicalshieldiicaps.html

and get a bottle of Radical Shield II. It's cheap. Take it for a month.

I had a similar problem. Then I read an article by the guy who formulated this multi vitamin... and how he had similar back pain in college.

My back pain cleared within about 2 weeks.

Since then I've read several medical abstracts about high dose vitamin E and C being used to treat back pain.

You don't need to use this specific formula to get the back pain relief. This is just the one I use... so I feel safe recommending it. It worked for me.

Remember too... it is HIGH dose. You take 12 capsules a day. If you use a different multi vitamin than this one... match the ratios so that you equal 12 caps of this stuff.

Back Stretches From a Chiro

I was laid up in the Boston overlap brace for four months in 97'. I had a crack that ran through L4 & L5. L = Lumbar. Sports injury. It introduced me to some real pain. I saw a chiropractor when I was finally able to walk again. He never adjusted me but he would stretch my hamstrings traditionally and excessively. About a half hour every day. After the hammie stretches, he would stretch out my back using the flexion/distraction technique. You lye face down on a chiro bed and your waist down will be stretched to the limit. When you hear the deep POP, you know your there. Hope this helps.
