gigantism - is when children have too much hgh and become giants
acromegaly - is when adults get a pituitary tumor and since their skeletons are completely grown (growth plates fused) they just get the big head, lantern jaw, etc.
both usually die young if the problem cannot be fixed due to complications from too much hgh, like diabetes, etc.
