This is not correct.
It depends so much on the individual, age, sex, etc.
A much more true general statement for most of the male population in the 20 something to 30 something age group is that it is better to error on the side of less training the too much training.

Way too many guys try to train 5 days per week and then wonder why they dont see any gains or very little gains. The reason is that they are doing way too dam much and then they never give their bod a chance to recover and build muscle.
And they dont realize that with that volume of training they have to eat a lot of real food.
