Is there anything special I could do in terms of exercises or otherwise to increase the gash in between my left and right abs? I haven't seen very much progress in increasing the definition of this area with my current workout/diet regimen...

nope, thats called the linea alba and its the connective tissue between rectus abdomini. you gotta play the hand you are dealt with on this one bro, get lean and see exactly how it shapes up.

I've never been a big fan of ab workouts for 'specific' parts of the abs.. as they are all one muscle... Granted, some hit the lower end better, but all in all, you'll hit them all.

Best thing to see definition is to lose the fat that is covering them up. :) Other than that, I have a tremendious ab exercise, most people do it incorrectly... however. In fact, if you can guess it, i'll give you a dollar...

Most people work their hip flexors more than their abs

Yep....we all have a washboard. The only difference is the amount of funk between the abs and the eyes.
