So how many of you guys legally carry a handgun on a regular basis and what has been your experience with that (as far as people finding out, feeling safer, extra hassle, etc). I should be getting my license in the mail soon if the state of TX would hurry the fuck up.

i was going to get one but then i got married and had a kid. just didnt want to be one of those people you hear about that there kid got to there gun and shot himself or herself or someone else. i know there are locks and crap but the easiest way is just not to have one.

Wtf are you gonna do when the zombies attacK?

I have one, I don't carry mine, just doesn't seem to be worth the hassle. Plues its a crime to carry one on campus and that is where I am most of the time...

I had a permit for 10 years. I mostly just kept the gun in my car. Honestly, there's no point in carrying a pistol on you. You'll find out quickly that the gun is a pain in the ass to carry concealed. Also, if you are mugged it's not likely to help you because the mugger is going to already have their weapon ready before you have a chance to draw your gun. You could always shoot the mugger in the back as they are running away but then your ass is going to prison. Also, think about the risk of an accident.

I used to be an NRA gun fanatic but my views have changed now that I'm older and wiser. I don't even own any guns any more.

Im glad you have the confidence to be free of the necessity to carry a gun. I on the other hand have seen too much personally and think the security and peace of mind outweigh the hassle.

During the time I had mine I never needed it. However I dropped my piece at a friend's house and it fired. It blew up a table and bounced up through the roof. My friend and his father who owned the house were not happy about that incident. It also scared the piss out of their dog and it has been on Prozac ever since.

But seriously, consider your reasons for wanting to carry a weapon. If you hang out at places where trouble is likely to occur, find another place to hang out. You don't ever want to be in a situation where you use that weapon because even if you do defend yourself you will still likely have legal problems.

I had mine while I was a pizza delivery driver. Unfortunately, pizza drivers are frequent targets for thugs. I'm still not sure it would have ever helped as the thugs always have the upper hand since they are making the first move.
