Which is worse?

Hey y'all I need HELP! Is it worse to not get in enough calories when bulking/gaining or to eat food thats not very clean? I have been eating 6 meals a day and the food has been fairly clean, but there are only so many calories in egg whites, chicken breast or protein bar. I even eat pasta to try to get in some calories but it fills me up quick. another one of my big problems is that I don't eat red meat so thats outta the question. So my question is....Is it okay to eat not as clean just for the sake of consuming more calories. And do you all know of any supplement that will increase my appetite (other than marijuana, hehe). Thanks!

When I was bulking, my goal was to eat 2 times my weight in protein a day, that was my goal, no matter how I did it :) And it worked great for me, but thats just me :)
 
OMG that would be 260 grams of protein for me, my stomach is already jacked up 24/7 from the 150-180 grams Im eating now. WOW, how much weight did you gain? Are weight gainer powders out of the question. thank you for your reply darling.

I can loose weight on about 2300-2400 calories a day if im doing cardio. I have a high metabolism. Is chicken pizza a bad idea? It has carbs, protein and fat and enough calories for me to gain without getting stuffed before i can even finish it. I'm new to this bulking stuff, the biggest plus is my TATAS are back! Well actually they were never there before, but with the heavy chest work outs and the increase in body fat i have cleavage! WOOHOO. I kinda like this curvy look. But 16 weeks from now I'll be back to trying to get to 12% bf.

Why do you not eat red meat??? Missing out:) Dont eat junk just for the sake of getting more calories in!! You dont want to put on a lot of excess weight that is not muscle. What are your portion sizes of meat when you eat?? Do you like turkey breasts?? Cottage cheese? Try mixing some protein powder w/ natural pb or flax oil. Make sure you are eating every few hours. Make sure you are getting your complex carbs in..I would eat 1 cup of oatmeal in the morning and eat rice, and yams at your other meals. Take a good protein/carb drink after your workouts as well.

In a nutshell, it is more detrimental to not get enough calories. If you are not eating beyond your maintenance needs, whatever the quality of the food, you will not bulk, period.
 
New@ I don't eat read meat or pork because my father had a triple bi-pass when I was 15 and my mother had an aneurysm (sp?) when I was 7 so at 15 I decided to eat better because I was genetically predisposed to lots of health problems. I have not started back eating it because I'm scared of getting sick. I do eat chicken and turkey. I hate cottage cheese! I have tried mixing everything I can think of in it to make it edible but IT AIN'T HAPPENING! I don't like seafood, yucky! Yes I'm picky. I have been eating oatmeal in the mornings with my egg whites and two yolks. I eat more like every 3 hours. Every two would be a bit hard since I am in a military school environment and I just can't say " SGT. We need to stop training so I can get in my afternoon meal!" It would be nice if I could though. I think I'm gonna take after lobo and relax on the strict eating habits and just eat. Mind you I'm not going to eat ice cream, chips and candy, but I will eat more "home cooking". Thanks for all y'alls help.

That's alot of food SPAT! OK, so I added to that quote. Couldn't help myself after you're recent bulking problems :)

Seriously OTC, eat clean (i.e., not alot of sugar, but calorie dense foods) foods that might be considered taboo for a fat loss diet but OK to maintain or gain. Like Lobo said,

"I always like a bit of milk gravy & biskets with my breakfast, eggs, ham, sausage..... "

Bob Evans baby. You ladies need to relax a bit and live a little. Enjoy some real food once in a while. It ain't that bad.
