sports authority has it here, but they are bad about keeping it in stock, so i bought the whole box last time so im good for a few years...

There's a Hudson trail in the annapolis mall that may carry chalk. I'd call first tho.

In an emergency, how about contractors' chalk (used for chalk line striking)? Lowe's/Home Depot, etc... I think I've seen it in white, although most use red.

what kind of product is it at a pet store?

it is sold as some sort of grooming product, mine comes in a small square box with a picture of a hamster on the front and I theres a block of chalk inside which I take out and put in a plastic box, lasts for ages and only costs me £2.50...
