when to train rear delts

ive noticed my rear delts are lagging

do you train them with back or shoulders?

my back and shoulder workouts are 1 day apart, so it is awkward. Ive heard of some people training them after there chest/tris workout?!?! but this sounds dodgy since they will get hit again doing rows etc in your back workout.

also what is the best exercise? bent over laterals, seated one arm cross cable laterals or where you lay forward on an incline bench and raise your arms out to the side and slightly forward infront of you in a semi arc movement using light weight.

thanks guys

i train mine on back day. with any rowing movements you are hitting that rear delt, and all my rowing is done on back day. opinions vary on this subject but in my opinion, training shoulders should be training the front and middle sections of the delt. the rear delt i consider to be part of the back.

if they are lagging- do them on both days but not too many sets- maybe 5 total...twice a week....or single out a day for rear delts only......

do them on lat day

twice a day may not be a bad idea

I would definitely go with back day, all that rowing already hits them hard, bent over dumbell laterals while letting your arms drift up towards your head seems to work well. Years ago I started training back and shoulders together to eliminate the overlap between the two days, has worked great for me.
