whats up with Protein factory?

mdd

i'm thinking about buying protein form them for the first time, bc it seems to be cheap 4.25 a pound, so i call the customer service number and ask how many servings do you get per pound and how many grams of protein are in each serving in the WPC. now is it me or is this something they should know off hand. and if not find out rather quickly. instead all i got was a "i dont know" answer, what gives?

Opinion about the Protein Factory

:( :( :( Here's why you might not want to buy protein, or anything else, from Protein Factory:

About July 23rd, I talked with Alex (the owner? of P.F.) and told him I needed CFM Whey Isolates for my father who has ESRD (End Stage Renal Dysfunction). He quoted me prices and turned me over to Eva, his assistant. I ordered 5lbs (1 lb ea. of choc, van. orange, banana, and unflavored). Eva quoted me shipping for UPS Ground, UPS 3day, and USPS Priority Mail. I chose Pr. Mail, since it was $5 cheaper than UPS 3day and my experience is that Pr. Mail takes only 2 to 3 days from the East Coast. Eva quoted me a total including the shipping and said my order would go out the next day.

After a week, I had not received my order. I called. Eva answered and said, "They had to wait until they went to the post office and that was just yesterday." I reminded her that she told me it would go out the next day and that the reason I chose and paid extra for Pr. Mail was to get it faster than UPS Ground. She put me on hold. Alex got on the line and told me, "We do each order custom and it can take up to a week to prepare." I told him that I wasn't told that. He said, "Well, it went out yesterday, so you'll get it in a few days." (It seems funny that a simple 5lb. order would take a week to prepare).

After another week, I still had not received the order. I tried calling Alex, but was told he was busy. So, I faxed Alex to complain about the non-receipt of my order. I stated what had already occurred and that I needed the protein to help my father with his kidney failure. Alex faxed me back. In a short sentence he half-apologized for the "inconveniences" and then spent 3 paragraphs going on about how this is going to cause "him" problems. He said that despite the "misunderstandings" I was going to get my protein. He said he "hoped I would understand the mishap." In a fax, I replied that if my shipment had gone out when I was told it would (and noted that his website states that all orders go out within 2 days), then I would have had the protein 10 days ago. I said I wouldn't be unreasonable and expect him to "overnight" it to me, but that I would appreciate it if he got it to me within 3 days, using whichever route he wanted (i.e., UPS 3day or USPS Pr. Mail).

Now STILL ANOTHER WEEK has gone by and I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED my order. Nor have I received any response from Alex. (This has all the earmarks of a con. Fortunately, I paid with a MasterCard, so the charge will be reversed). I would advise anyone planning to do business with the Protein Factory to be very careful AND only pay by credit card.

thats too bad because I have been using them for awhile now and have never had anything close to the problem you had, matter of fact I never had any problems at all, maybe a day late but that was because I wasn't home for the UPS. I like them personally and will continue to use them and recommend them to buds, but I agree that was some bad fucking luck on that order.

Protein Factory

I'm not talking about bad luck. I too have had things arrive late. I understand that. I'm talking about contradictory statements and attitude. Here's what I mean:

CONTRADICTIONS: The PF rep, Eva, says my shipment will go out the next day. The website says ALL orders go out within 2 days. Then, after I haven't received my order timely, Eva says they only send Priority Mail packages when they go to the Post Office. But then Alex says since all orders are custom they can take up to a week to prepare. So, just what is the PF's shipping policy? When they say an order will go out? As their website says? When they find the time to go to the Post Office (from Priority Mail shipments)? When they finish the ever so time consuming process of making a simple 5 lb order?

ATTITUDE: From the first, Alex was told the protein was needed for my sick father. ESRD is very different from body building. You can do body building next week, next month, next year. With ESRD, you can die next week. In case Alex didn't get the message from the original phone conversation, I repeated the info about my father's illness in my fax. Now I've had reps make mistakes before. From good companies what I usually get is an apology and an offer to do whatever it takes to make up for the mistake and any problems caused. NOT SO WITH PROTEIN FACTORY! Here are Alex's exact words in his fax to me:

"Sorry for all these inconveniences. You must remember that this is troublesome on our part to. Shipping Is very important to my company and getting protein to my customers in a fashionable time. I am sorry Eva quoted you that we would ship it the next day. Sometimes that is just not possible.

"Unfortunately we cannot track your package because we shipped It through the mail. That is why we always like to ship UPS. Now I am forced to ship you another order. Thus I will lose money. I will ship you another order by UPS only. Please e-mail me back or call with a shipping address. I have one here but I dont know if you want it shipped there

"You will get your protein, unfortunatley you have experlenced some technical difficulties and misunderstandings. But with understanding, just like I made an exception with your case in giving you a 10% discount, which I only give to people ordering over $500.00, you will understand this mishap."
(bold and italic emphasis added)

Alex seems to be more concerned with the "inconviences" their mistakes (which he calls "technical difficulties and misunderstandings) have caused them, rather than the problems they've caused me. (BTW, there were no misunderstandings, I understood Eva perfectly when she said my order would go out the next day and I understand perfectly when the website states that ALL orders go out within 2 days). And Instead of asking what he can do to make up for their mistakes, Alex tells me he will ship ONLY by UPS. He says he can't track Priority Mail, but that's not true. I use Priority Mail all the time. You just pay an extra 50 cents for Delivery Confirmation and you can track the delivery. I explained this to Alex in my return fax. I told him I wouldn't be unreasonable and expect overnight delivery, but I would appreciate receiving my order within 3 days and left the choice of delivery method (UPS or USPS) up to him. Alex emphatically stated, "You wil get your protein..." But words are cheap and from some people they are worthless. I still have not received my protein!

i ordered the anabolic MRP vanilla. it didnt taste nice to me.

also, i didnt like that they use bags for orders. i guess its cheaper. but i ordered from massquanties and they use buckets.

it helps to keep it fresh, and transporting it makes it a lot easier not to mention storage. plus you get a new garbage can when its empty.

Personally i think Proteinfactory sucks. Poor packaging, poor service, sometimes it takes a month for it to get to you, the protein tastes like shit, and it really isn't that cheap at all. Look in DPSnutrition at the 5pound whey's, they're same price as proteinfactory most of them. Some are even better.

I have always had good results from the proteinfactory, I mean give them a break every company has there problems once and a while think about it.

Shit I ordered a header for my honda 3 weeks ago and it was supposed to be here with in 7 days...

moral of the story is that there will always be problems when it comes to ordering stuff....
