What you ate today, or yesterday?

Which, do you believe, is more important? In terms of maximizing energy and pump in the weight room.

If I wanted to have a kickass day in the gym tomorrow, which would be most important if I trained at noon? Would the food I consumed today be more relevant to tomorrow's workout? Or, would the food I consumed in the hours leading up to my workout have more of an effect.

In short, is the food I eat today going to have a bigger impact on tomorrow's workout than the food I eat pre-workout tomorrow? If I train midday.

I already have my opinion, but I want to hear yours.

I think the food today effects the workout more. Any time I have a ton of carbs post workout the next workout I feel more full and better pumps

today.

I eat 2 scrambled eggs 40 minutes before my workout with a banana or two to raise my glycogen levels.

i remember when i played soccer our coach would tell us "eat pasta the night before".. this IMO is complete buffoonery. and back then it was normal to eat white pasta anyway .. before football games we would eat greasy pizza, hey its cheap and its all the team could afford to feed us. however i shutter to think what would have happened had we been fed a nutritious pregame meal instead.

perhaps getting the parents involved and putting together a nutritious buffet instead would of been more practical for a team that cannot afford anything besides cheap greasy pizza from the place down the road. a buffet with lots of veggies, some chicken breast without any sauce, maybe some whole grain bread and fruit.

I like to slam the carbs pre workout when I'm doing a higher carb diet. I find sweet potato and fruits, or white rice works well.

Other than that I think it's having the consistency of good meals coming in that keeps you strong.

If you miss your meals today or yesterday, both will have an impact to some degree. With that being said I find it takes a few days in a row before workouts start to worsen.
