What would be the appropriate attitude when you recieve a package...

I usually just sign for it, but I never do b/c I know my maillady really well (wink wink). She just brings me my stuff and that's it. It's like christmas all over again. The only packages I have to sign for are overnight and stuff from fed-xe and ups.

Well if you're not supposed to have to sign for it, then why would it require a signature. I wouldn't sign. I'd check with your source to see if it did in fact have to be signed for. What you're saying doesn't add up. anyway, I had some A-dex delivered from China one time they wanted a signature. I didn't know I'd have to sign. I told the guy I never ordered any package from China, I'd check with my roomate when she got home to see if she did. After talking to my source, this person said this portion of my order required a signature as it was coming from a different shipper than the rest of my order was. I went to the Post Office the next day, signed, and went on my way.

Well that's why I was asking because you never know. You could be expecting a package without signature and then you are asked for a sig. Seems like what you did is the best.

Based on other questions on this thread, yes, this package is supposed to be under reciever's name and is being shipped by USPS. That people have different procedures from state to state so you never know. Maybe is a signature only for internal purposes but that's why I was asking what would be the best attitude and procedure to follow.

Now if you do what slyder190 did, could that action create some kind of suspicion and get the package checked and/or scanned?

don't answer the door. thats what i do. but i use only domestic sources and they use priortiy (not express, yikes!) with a delivery confirmation, so not sig. required. now if i saw my mailman being persistant at the door ringing the doorbell, i just really wouldn't answer it.

I have signed for fedex packages before and the sender spcified no signature needed but they still make you sign sometimes so they are not responsible for a lost pack if left at the door.Its your call bro just check out your surroundings and make sure all is good.

If u r orderin the package u hav to watch out goin through companies like ups and fedex and dhl i work at one of them and bein a private company we could look in any package we want and with no reason, but someone like the post office owned by the government needs a reason to look in it so choose wisley
