What is "Big" ? (might be stupid...)

thin

New member
Okay, I’ve been reading around here and I want to know what defines “big” that is when do you know if you are ripped? Is it how you look? How much you can lift? I read someone measurements and I’m about the same-- maybe I’m “big” by mistake!?

5’1” , 93lbs
biceps: 10”
gam: 15”
thigh: 18.5”
waist: 22”
hips: 30.5”

or is not about size? Is it how ‘cut’ you are?

Should I just go to a FAQ? I've been looking-- I bet this has been asked before... so if there is a good link you can just zap this post, I guess...

no idea.

Thanks!

Hehe...you are so cute!! you are not "big" babydoll... you are tiny:)

Big is freakin 15inch biceps!! big ass shoulders... 22 -23 inch thighs.. etc.

ripped would be how low your bf is I guess. Like pre-comp bf a person might be RIPPED at 6-8 bf.. something like that.

YES..finally someone who said my measurment are the measurment of a big guy......oh..wait..this is the WOMENS forum..you meant FEMALES..ah poopy..that means im still small

LOL!! come on .... keep pumping!! MS has 16inch biceps!! sassy69 has 15...

nice pic :p ;)

I've typed this three times and am not finding the words that I want but this analogy might help you a bit.

I have two friends, one is a runner and the other is a gymnast
Both are roughly the same height, the gymnast I think weighs about 10# more and they wear the same clothing size. In a bathing suit the runner looks flat and skinny, the gymnast would stop traffic, her muscles are shapely and round - all things being roughly equal except the way that they look is radically different.
A little lean mass goes a long way as far as changing the aestheics without radically changing the measurements. This is why we tell women to throw their scale in the trash can.

Cut is a function of low bodyfat.
It is not possible to gain appreciable amounts of lean mass and lose bodyfat at the same time - this is why bodybuilder do cycles of bulking and cutting.
Strength and Mass are not the same thing example - the difference in the way a bodybuilder looks vs the way a powerlifter looks. Or there are some wiry little guys that are pretty damn strong and some big guys that are absolute wusses.

The right time of the month, eh? If that's the case then, yeah, you really should be posting more here on the women's board :lmao:

As for whether or not you're big, I ditto 'thin'! But, then again, seeing as my biceps are all of 8.5 inches (I had to double check I wasn't measuring in centimetres just now :goof: ), my definition of 'big' is probably somewhat different to yours!

"Big" is a state of mind. To me you can be BIG, or RIPPED, but rarely both unless your name is Ronnie Coleman.....For instance, my biceps are 16+ inches at the moment, and I feel "big" (too big), but they barely make 15 inches when I'm competition lean, and then I feel small.

If you're not big or ripped, then to me you're just fat or skinny. Thin, you could not possibly qualify as "big" or "ripped" to me because both require muscle mass in my mind. But you may feel big compared to other people, or when you look in the mirror because of some type of body dysmorphia. Many bodybuilders also suffer body dysmorphia, it's just that they see "too small" when they look in the mirror instead of "too big". Many bodybuilders also suffer eating disorders.......

Heh. I think I'm kinda ripped... in my way... didn't know ripped was about size-- like a dancer could be "ripped" to me if they were stong and had low bf.

BTW do any BB people dance? No I'm serious--- I'm a director and I've always wanted to doa modern peice with some Big muscular dancers...

bump...I have no clue:confused: but my guess is no. you COULD still have a muscular chick or guy in your work. A real BB may be a bit too large for the look you want but an overall nicely built, muscular person would look good too.

I saw a documentry about Body Builders once and they went to a contest and they had this dance part-- the guys and gals were HUGE. I think Robert Wilson could take a cule.
