Weighted pullups

man...weighted pullups should be a staple in everybody's program. They are a GREAT exercise for size and strength. This basic exercise is so valuable.

Try different grips/accesories like a v bar attachment used for t-bar rows/cable rows.

If you are a beginner to the exercise...10 lbs will be a bit tougher...I mean you'll be able to tell a difference.

Just did my back workout yesterday with couple of sets of 45lbs around my waist. Give it a shot boys if you want huge ARMS and a huge back.

Time to add a historic footnote:

Famed bodybuilding photographer Art Zeller used to do his weighted pullups with 200lbs hanging from the belt.

hmm, i'm sure i'm missing something here but...why not just do lat pulldowns? don't they work the same muscles? or no?

compare smith machine squats to free squats...compare glute ham raise to leg curls..

and now compare pulldowns to pullups/chins.. :)

yeah hits the same muscles, but no where near the same type of contraction requirements.

try em on a powerrack - it will make a man outta ya :)

better IMO
- and you improve your grip strength to.

that would freaking kill me. as far as starting out with JUST a dime, that made a big difference. I was out of the gym because I moved residences.

I think the best comparison is a squat to a leg press. For some reason closed chain excercises often seem to be more effective, not sure why though.
