When I do nothing, I weigh in at around 140. I've always had a healthy slim body ... I'm looking to put on some muscle but there's too much happening in my life to get started. I have more important things to worry about (taxes, money, rent, bills, jobs, school, food, so-on-and-so-forth).

It's all good though ... I'm not overweight at all nor do I look it. If anything, I look underweight so working out isn't a high priority. ;)

Being underweight gives you a much better base to build with, if ever you do decide to start lifting.

I'd like to start lifting now but I can't afford to eat as healthy as I'd like ... and if I'm not mistaken, I have to eat healthy if lifting is going to have any effect.

Nah. Health is more important long term. All you need is basic cheap foods for lifting. Rice, whey protein, milk, oats, tuna or chicken. There are some really cheap foods you can buy for lifting and still get in a massive amount of protein. Guess you could say they are also healthy too. The food may be bland, but itll work. Im on a 300$ budget for food, gas and gym membership per month, and I make it work. I would be alot better off to buy chicken and meats in bulk like I used to, and cook them on the foreman grill. You can start a thread in the diet forum about inexpensive quality food sources and you will get alot of great responses. My diet lately is TV dinners and milk, which is not the optimal way to save money. I would also suggest joining a warehouse like Sam's, Costco's, or BJ's , its maybe 40$ a year. You can buy LOTS of meats and foods in bulk and with a George Foreman grill, cooking and preparing them is easy. Its definately doable. Unless your budget is rediculously low and you dont have a way to make extra income. Hope that helps

Right now, I only have one job and only make $200 bi-weekly ... I did have a part-time job at a graphic design firm working full-time hours but they don't have enough work for me right now so I'm trying to survive on my one job for now. I just submitted a few job applications at some local shops just so I can get a little more cash. My monthly rent is $395 a month and my phone bill is $60 a month. I am just barely making it and the money in my bank account is draining quickly. I'm only eating once a day and it's only a slice of pizza here, or a few handfulls of cereal there. On the weekends though, I pig out (I get free food ... mostly crap but it works).
