Wait until marriage before having sex?

Its the silliest thing I have ever heard this day and age. With the divorce rate at what it is today not having sex is not really knowing your partner. I think people should know each other as much as possible before even considering marriage. Live together etc. Most people that hold out will in alot of cases only regret it when they sign there divorce papers 10 years later and then try to be single in a world full of sex. Are these divorcees going to hold out again while at the age of 35-40-45. Good luck finding a mate who at those ages would put up with someone like that.

about waiting
My wife waited. And we waited like 2 years until we got married.
She knows that I wished and still wish that on our wedding night that I could say the same. I had sexual umm... "fluid contact" shall we say - with 6 girls besides her... if you want to look at it that way she is the lucky # 7. Lucky for me that is.
& it's not that we were saints because we were playing with fire by engaging in oral sex quite often. Her pheremones drove/still drive me crazy. How we EVER kept from getting our freak on for 2 years before our wedding is beyond me. Guess we wanted to "test drive" before we commited. That was 5 & 1/2 years ago.
Our relationship is still awesome in every area. One thing is certain with people who wait - when you are away from each other, you are not wondering if the other person is off cheating on you, since they used self-control in regards to you and you know you are the most important person in the world to them.
Did I just type all that? golly... so anyway, I have nothing but respect for those who decide to wait. Wish I did.

My future wife also waited until we got married, went together 2 years, had some oral, but nothing beyond that until we got married, at the time i wanted to go all the way but respected her wishes and didnt pressure, no regrets, although we divorced, sex was never the issue, even after seperation we still got together just for sex,

Honestly, I am still a virgin, and I guess proud of it is not the right phrase for what I feel. The thing is looking at it from a scientific point of view, sex is just a way for nature to force you to reproduce. Since I don't even like kids, why should I bother even looking for it? There's no point. If I ever get married (which is doubtful) then sure, but as far as I'm concerned, I give the finger to sex. It's one of those mind over matter things, which most of you can't posibly understand...
