tris on chest day

hey guys

i want to increase my tri size should i do my tris first than hit my chest ??

right ow this is my split

monday off

tues chest, tricepits
incline d.b. press 1 warm up 3 working sets
hammer strenth bench 4 working sets
incline flys 3x10
cable flys 2x10

skull crushers 1 wrm up set 3 working sets
cable press downs 3 x10
single arm cable ext 2xfailure

wends off

thurs back/bi

friday shoulders traps

sat legs/ forarms

sun off

i might toy with the idea of moving shoulders to chest day and doing bis and tris on one day,

so i would do chest and shoulders on tues day and bis and tris on friday


what do yall think???
 
You CAN do em before chest. Don't let anyone tell you you can't. Why? Because you WANT bigger tris. You don't want a bigger chest. Its called the Priority Principle and it is very real and very effective. Just remember you're going to be weak when it comes to your chest workout since tris are secondary movers.
Your idea of a chest and shoulder day isn't bad. What you could do is throw in about 4 sets of tris on that day and then you can have your separate REAL arm day on friday like you suggested where you can go through a more intense tri day. I have gotten good results doing low volume tris on my chest day and then high volume tris during my arm day. Good luck.
 
thanks i think i am gonna do that i am gonna move shoulders and chest togther and throw in 4 sets of heavy press downs on that day, and hit em low and heavy on arm day. i do this already with calves on back day, i do a my 4 sets of chins and run over and superset in 3 sets of donkey raises, do my one arm d.b rows and and throw in 3 sets of seated raises i have got great results from that. and than finish out my back seated rows, and under hand lat pulldowns.

i am in that lucky stage still where i can put on mass and drp body fat at the same time since i just returned to training after about a 6 year layoff
 
haha i'm gonna suggest doing less.

basically, after chest, doing so much volume for triceps is where your problem is. you ain;t gonna solve it by doing more [unless you're on gear - which i sense you're not]

here's the deal:

chest volume in my opinion could be lower but you ain;t got a problem with your chest [as it appears from this thread] just your triceps.

when you do triceps, drop your one arm extensions completely.

keep the other 2 exercises but drop to 2 sets for each exercise leavinga total of 4 sets for direct triceps work.

i highly doubt you'll go for this but if you do then be sure to let me know how it goes. :)
 
Let me give you a tip if you do tri´s before chest. Be really carefull when you bench, you wont be able to bench as much as you use to. It doesn´t feel good to break your ribcage with a barbell :(
 
I've seen some dudes blow up training tris's after chest, bi's after back, etc but it never worked for me. I find I need to train heavy to gain size and I just can't do it after chest. What I find does work for me is to have a separate arm day where I do very heavy basic movements, weighted dips, close grip bench, skulll crushers, etc. But I also hit tris on chest day, bi's on back day as well, with higher rep, isolation movements that I can't bring myself to do on arm day. But that only works when there is lots of rest days in between, or if your on gear.
