Training Philosophies

What about switching to a more aerobic-focused training split??

The East Germans used a similar program and found it to be most beneficial for fat loss due to increase in hgh, igf1 etc??

That's been the plan. Its the part dealing w/ the trainer that hasn't been really clear. The guy has never helped w/ competition before so when I keep asking what happens on the between days when I don't train w/ him that he doensn't answer - he siad he woudl work on something. He just doesn't get that there's more to competition training than just meeting w/ someone a couple days / week to do something. That's what is really driving me nuts. If i try to wing something between, I get overlap on his training because he just does "upper body" / "lower body". I dunno. Ugh.

My goal was to cut down for the Arnold. I'm now at 4 weeks out w/ a sporadic diet & training schedule. Diet is good, training "sux moose balls". At this point I'm seriously considering just doign a hellauva lot of cardio & a brutal run of CKD.

(Sorry that sounds like whining.)

Sassy why are you working with him? Can you find another trainer? Just curious.
Sassy you do not need a trainer ... I KNOW why you want one/feel you need one, but being one of THE most educated, experienced and incredible women I have ever met, I mean top 5 here, you are more than qualified than these people who are just not in the same caliber as you PERIOD.

I want you to see you don't need all this frustration these 'trainers' seem to bring upon you. I love you girl. :rose: That's all I wanted to say.

Ugh - I prepaid to get the lower session rate. I've actually got the guy in an interesting situation right now - he was complaining about how he did his first ever photo shoot and felt like he was a little watery - i.e. has no idea how to do a cutting prep for a photo shoot (or a competition). So I'm gonna hit him with the basics (which border on mindless if you think about it...) and then maybe he'll get a better view of what "competition training" is.

Well like I said earlier - I was looking for some new input - maybe I'll hit him up for some boxing lessons & stuff like that because we've got some heavy bags in the gym.

I apologize for the whiny randomness of my general comments - between my job & my personal life right now, I'm just very frustrated and it leaks out into my focus on training as well. And then dealing w/ this guy. I guess I will be laying my between day schedules & he'll adjust to that schedule. Weird huh? Trust me tho - after I get thru this little run to the Arnold, hell, I may market my services for contest prep at the gym LMAO!

Great feedback, and thanks. Sassy, I have to agree with everyone...you need to be training the trainer! LOL!

Treillin, I think you have probably said it the best. You stated, "I think ideally one should look at their own body and figure out what they need to address." That should be the goal of every person and every trainer! Sure, it makes programming a little more difficult, but after that much experience, creating a routine will be a breeze.

Anyway, it was super busy today at work, and IP is not feeling well, so I'm taking her home. I would like to discuss some more things if people are interested, so I'll be back!

OH...and thanks to everyone that contributed!

Nope...no whining taken.

Do what you gotta do.

Beaucoup cardio and CKd sounds like a winner given the short term goal
