pull ups bw + 25 x 5, 5; + 35 x4, 4

curl bar rows (strict) 170 X 20, 14

shrug/upright row behind back hybrid 117, 137, 177 X 8

need to start heavier next time on pull ups, will go with 35 for all four sets. i know these numbers are not much and i have done better in the past, but you have to start somewhere. nothing like the iron and 95 degree weather to help you forget your problems!!
 
its the same as a barbell row. instead of using a barbell, you use a curl bar. i do these very strictly, arching the back but minimal movement of torso or legs. the behind the back shrugs are brutal. i think they were a staple of lee haneys routine back in the day. he had some pretty good traps.

just a change of pace thing. i used do do the yates barbell rows, and got up to 250 for 4 to 6 reps, but i strained something in my left arm. i am going to concentrate on weighted pull ups for a while, the rows will be high reps and strict. im a fat 200 now, want to get down to 180 by year end, so increasing the poundages will be tough.
