those who lease cars: is the VW lease a good one?

i've been considering a new vw jetta; but am dubious of mexican assembled vdubs and have heard some disturbing horror stories about vw's quality control (or lack of).

vw has a 3 year lease offer on jettas for $199 a month goin' on now. i am thinking if it turns out to be a shoddily built POS i can turn it in at the end of the lease and walk/run away, as it will still be under the factory warranty. if it turns out to be a good one i can buy it.

i have always purchased my cars/trucks; never leased before....any comments?

Leases can be good if you driver less than 12k miles per year... But beware, at end of lease the charges can rack up.

rio kia.. $9000 100k mile warrenty..

that way if gas goes to $8.00 you won't mind completing the payments for a lawn ornament..

but they won't go much above $4.00

Leases are great if you are in and out of a new vehicle every 3 to 4 years however, the standard lease is 15,000 miles per year. If you go over the lease the penalty is .25cents per mile.... I do not recommend leasing if you cannot write it off.
