2006-08 VW Jetta: who has one/knows someone who has one?

So get the Rabbit. Same as a base Jetta, minus the trunk. Made in Germany.
true dat! like the non-mexican made part. unfortunately, it looks like a rabbit and not a jetta...

You can tell by the beginning letter/number of the VIN

Mexico will start with a 3
Brazil will start with a 9
Germany will start with a G
And North American will start with a 1

VW will keep you safe if you’re even involved in an accident but beings I worked in the service department for VW for 3 years....I would say you’re better off with a Passat.

I hope this helps you out.

Yes. Jetta’s have so many issues. This is the thing Germans are so worried about there suspension and how it will hold up on the Auto bond going 120mph, and that is fine if you live over there. They don't pay attention to the accessories (plastic parts that break), electrical components. Some one can sit in your passenger seat and something will go nuts and cause your airbag light to stay on. Then you have to take it to the dealer pay the $85.00 an hr to have them shut it off. Shit just messes up all the time, keys have to be re-programmed, radios have to be re-programmed, when you have your breaks done its always the back ones first and there is no shaving the rotors they are to thin so be prepared to spend between 350.00-600.00 every time.

I personally would not buy a VW at all. But the Passat is going to be your better choice. Stay away from the Touareg until they figure out why the inside of the tires wear out before the outside…lol

You drive a PT Cruiser, you should be impervious to that by now. And from the driver's seat they look the same.

someone driving a PT cruiser should not be saying ANYTHING about looks, quality or anything about another car.

GTIs are rabbits/golfs

LOL..

Nothing IMO accelerates rides or handles as well as a German Engineered car..
Notice I said Engineered, not assembled.
Even my Mother in Law's Beetle GL is fun to drive, although emasculating

I think the most fun I've ever had driving was in a VW GTI..

shhh... your talking to people who know nothing about german engineering

yeh, i heard ALL about "superior German engineering" as i drove my buddy to and from the audi dealer for his numerous repairs on his TT....in my dead reliable (AND paid for!) chrysler... :lmao:

it sounds like VW quality control is as variable as chrylser's is..looks like i got a good one and i will be keeping it. :artist:
