why is it:

after a guy and gal get married, she pushes for them to make "our" friends, usually other married couples,

she gets to keep ALL her pre-marriage freinds, gals and guys

but she demands that he distance/give up ALL of his pre-marriage freinds?

are gals THAT threatened by her husband's pre-marriage freinds? does they wife think that her husband's pre-marriage friends will try to destroy their marriage? take her place?

what gives with this????

I never asked my husband to give up any of his friends. Most have gotten married, anyway.

Here's my take. Most single men still frequent bars and clubs. Some people don't feel that a bar and or a club is the place for a married man. I think it's wrong for a women to ask her husband to give up her friends.

damn why arent all chics like you?

Don't listen to that kind of thing.

If she said, "Imakarum, I want you to give up your friends."

I'd say, "No. And why do you call me Imakarum?"

it's the inequity of this arangement that pisses me off...

SHE keeps all her old freinds, goes out with her girlfriends....

BUT

HE can't see any of his pre-marriage freinds?

WTF is going on here?

I agree!

I would never ask my husband to give up his friends and I would never give up my friends if he asked me to.

Seriously, though, if I had friends like normal people have friends, I'd give them up for my lady. No problem.

However, seeing as I have about three friends, and they'd march into battle for me, I think I'd invest the energy to help her understand.

On the other hand, she has given up many female friends for me. I never asked her to, though. She just realized what a negative group they are.

Out of respect for her, I'd have no female friends other than her. I don't find any other women to be friend-worthy, anway, though. In the same vein, she's cut off all of her male friends, as she has realized WHY they are friendly to her (took her long enough).
