LOL. Just for the record, I said she DIDN'T watch it with us.
But your post was a really good one. I couldn't find anything in it that I disagreed with at all. My parents were always very good at answering any questions we had about sex and just talking about it in general if we were curious about something. So we grew up without a lot of guilt like some kids do. That's the best approach a parent can take, in my opinion.

No, you don´t use crude street terms rather anatomical terms. Does that make you squeemish? I suspect that it does. My mother had no qualms explaining the facts to me and her explaination usually left me more confused than anything, but 2 seconds later I was back playing with my legos or whatever.
I think we´ve lost sight of my original point. That is, I seriously doubt your daughter has been "destroyed" by this incident. Period. I am not giving tacit support to porno for kids.

Discussing things like that do not make me squeemish at all. Having to choose the right words so she can understand is very difficult though. The mind of a 9 year old races very fast and takes in everything but can't process as fast as it takes it in. Therefore, things get lost and fall by the wayside if she doesn't understand them.
Okay, so according to what you are saying is her innocence was not affected but somewhat compromised? I don't want to control everything because it isn't possible. I will control what she does until I feel somewhat comfortable as to her decision making abilities. I know that sounds absurd and kind of like the married couple that wants to wait until they can afford it to have kids. If you wait, you will never have them...you just have to do it and survive. IMO, 9 years old is not old enough in my books to loosen the reins on her. I know I can take all the prevented cautions there are but that doesn't guarantee me she will turn out the way I want her to. That is a sad realization that parents have to accept. You can have 100 kids and every single one of them will be different. I am all for letting my kids experience failure in their young lives to show them the meaning of life. Schools are so fucked up now that everybody has to be a winner. To me that is not teaching anything. Show a kid how to lose gracefully and you will have a much more well-rounded adult. That's just my theory and I am digressing from the original subject.

It is VERY tough to watch them 24/7. I'm sure that she will be exposed to a lot of stuff you will cringe at during her lifetime.
My hubby and I are trying to teach Brianna to love her body and too respect herself as well. Sex and nudity should NOT be a dirty word- EVER! I do tend to think that a porn site IS not the way to expose a child to such matter's though.
