The Bible vs. Sex

Your problems are beyond the scope of this board. Please seek professional help. Im not even joking. The irony is you wont get married precisely because you cant attract women based on your guilt form premarital physical involvement. I think I speak for others here who have seen their time and energy wasted trying to help you so dont let that go in vain by not getting professional help. Once again Im not joking.

nah bro, i really think you are overreacting.
while i think he could use some "help"
i don't think it's proffessional help or mental health help...he needs a strong mentor or somebody IRL to lend some helpful words.
he's breaking outta his hardcore christian shell, something that has been indoctrinated and forced down his throat his whole life.
and this is not easy, since we can deduct that:
-his parents since a young age have told him about the horrors of hell and what happens to sinners
-his upbrining was dominated by christian ideology (even during college)
-all his friends and peers are most likely hardcore christian
this is pure speculation on my part, but i feel it's mostly accurate.
and therefore i have patience with flexgel, since i kinda understand what he is up against...it can be scary when your beliefs get rocked with reality.

YEAH BUT if he feels so "guilty" about sex then why is he at a club grinding with other women? what the fuck?

His thought process if all fucked up - I think he needs professional help. I dont belive his guilt about sex has anything to do with God/religion.

Have you even moved out of your folks home? I recall that you graduated college and were still living with your dad or something. Moving out would be priority 1. for helping get a new attitude and outlook on life. Gotta cut the cord and if that doesnt work see my previous post.

It's hard for the rational mind to comprehend but Christian guilt is very real for a believer. My ex GF was a no sex before marriage evangelical and the two times we had sex caused her tremendous guilt(she's 25 and has a BS in biology with a minor in chemistry). She ended breaking up with me because she needed to be with someone "equally yoked" and I didn't believe in a literal interpretation of the bible. Ironically, evangelical Christians have the highest divorce rate and the atheist divorce rate is extremely low. :)

also , Healother , if you are christian like you say you are, hang out with other Christian women who share the same morals. Why you are trying to be someone you are not I dont understand. Either you are ; or you aren't a christian who is struggling with premarital sex. Okay. Then surround yourself with like minded christains and you wont feel so guilty all the time, and wait to have sex until after you are married I guess.

Also ; are you Christian because you belive in Christ and the bible or because your parents are christian?

really? is that true? Evangelical christians or just all christians? The Evangelical kind dont look down on divorce like Catholics and other Christians. I dont know many divorced catholics , but quite a few methodists and baptists.

Yes, the Barna research group published a study. They are a Christian organization that hoped to prove faith based marriages were more successful. Unfortunately for their agenda, their data showed atheists/agnostics had lower divorce rates than any faith based group. Evangelical Christians were second only to jews in their divorce rate. To be classified as an evangelical they had to "have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as their lord and savior" as well as fitting nine statements of faith criteria.

It's funny, the chriistians who are critical of the the study don't seem to have actually read it. They went to great lengths to ensure evangelicals fell into that group. If it weren't a christian organization they would have called it "secular lies."
