hey just trying to figure out what to do in program to get that
meaty look? always been a person with somewhat of a medium
frame(tall and lanky).. been working on building mass approx.
2 1/2 years. ive gained about 25 pounds and still cant achieve
the look i am going for. it seems im cutting instead of adding mass. i workout 3-4 x a week w heaviest weight possible. i have noticed good gains in strenght, and dont get me wrong i have added some size but i feel i can do much better. as far as meals
i eat 5-6 x a day at approx. 500-600 each drink lots of milk and water, no pops and a pre workout protien shake as well as a shake before bed. any help would be appreciated!!!!

are you doing cardio? if so cut it back,and really you probably just need to eat more and work on certain areas to make you look bigger,ie back and shoulders and most importantly legs,they make it all grow

If you're tall and lanky and not big-boned it takes a lot longer and a lot more muscle to fill out than a shorter guy with a stockier build, patience grasshopper. If you've only put on 25lbs in 2.5 years you need to eat a lot more food. Good quality carbs are at least as important for putting muscle as protein but it's the macronutrient everyone neglects. Of course you are doing your squats, that goes without saying.

re

i have been adjusting my diet over probably 1 year of total training time. the first year or so was learning proper form, different exercises and mostly cardio. the weight has came since
adding in more meals per day. as for squatting yeah love it although i have had surgery on right knee to work on torn cartiledge.i was hit by a car when i was twelve. right now i am squatting 225 8-10 reps.

"Skinny" and "Powerlifter", definitely do not belong in the same sentence. You want to be "meaty" then eat and lift heavy using the compound movements. Once you gain the desired mass you want then you can cut it up. A proven formula!

Look up the pics of me, Screwball, and bigokie on the powerlifting board. Also look at the pics of Ryan Kennely, Musclehead 275, and PowerlifterJay.

Not a skinny person in the bunch. Most don't look like bodybuilders, but none will be thought of as "Skinny".

Powerlifting = thickness.

I used to work in an office with a lot of guys who share my first name. I was known as "The Thick Brian" that made me feel pretty good. Compound movements build big strong bodies.
