What do you guys do to train your lower-back, abs, and obliques?
I know this is basically the core of the body and needs to be really strong so what do you guys do??? I just got a job as a CO in the county jail and may need to be prepared to wrestle/brawl
on occassion.

When I was fighting, I did all kind of goofy stuff with medicine balls, hanging off the ring, forced lifts, etc.

Now I simply do deads, GMs, sl deads, squats, and other heavy floor lifts and I think my mids are probably stronger than they were when I was fighting.

Good luck with your CO job btw. Its a good job. Especially if you like playing dominos, watching TV, and getting paid decently:)

solidj - Thaibox is too modest to mention this, but he also swam every other day wearing a football helmet and bright yellow Tweety Bird floaties for added resistance.

LOL thanks bro, what about your abs and obliques?
I was actually talking about abs and obliques also. Just doing really heavy core lifts has strengthened them like mad.

Ask B-fold, he has a MA background, and I think he'd say the same.

You could ask Gymtime too, I heard that a girlscout tried to sell cookies to him while he was on the abductor machine and he gave her a pretty good hair pulling before she beat his ass

Prince Tinyarms - you obviously didn't hear the entire story. That "girlscout" went about 250 if she weighed a pound. So I told her to try to keep her gaping snout out of the inventory and leave some cookies for the rest of us.

After that, all I remember is being carried into the ambulance.

Kids these days are way too touchy.

For abs, Tons of Hanging leg raises, all angles. Static hold at 45 degree angles during sit-ups and tons of crunches. Core excercises will toughen up you mid section though
