Surf Shape at 40

Sepi

New member
I am almost 40 years old and I'm looking for input re; the following question.

I have been surfing for almost 30 years, and it's my greatest passion. In the last 4 years I have worked behind a desk and have lost a good deal of strength and endurance which is evident when I paddle out on even small to medium size days. My children have taken up a lot of the time I used to dedicate to working out, which has added to my dilemma. They are a little older now and I want to resume a regular workout schedule. I have looked into HGH therapy and after having read dozens of articles feel even more confused than before.
My top goals are; getting lean and strong, and increasing my ability to hold my breath underwater. I find myself shorter of breath and not being as relaxed as I used to be when being held underwater. This is a scary reality for a surfer.
Can someone recommend supplementation/workouts that can help me get back that feeling of strength and confidence? Something that will not cause physiological abnormalities and not break my bank would be great?

Should be ashamed of yourself.

Nice new member gentleman comes on here asking a serious question about serious topics and instead of hitting on him, you feed him with this bull crap?

Sorry Sepi, I am sure someone will be here to answer your question real soon but it's best if you post it on the anabolic forum.

There is a gentleman that goes by goinon40t (now is 40+) and he uses hgh extensively. I suggest dropping him a private message. He is a very helpful guy

he said "something that doesn't break the bank". . .

I doubt hgh would break any bank other than those already gone under.... :)

He had initially asked about hgh so I pointed out who to speak to about hgh... Depends if he is rich or poor and where he gets it from, if he can get a script for it and so on...

At that age, I am sure an injection of enanthate/cyp just once a week would work well as well.

i agree. . .i'm 44 and on hrt under a doc's supervision. . .given the correct diet and training regimen, results like mine are not all that difficult to achieve. . .i'm not huge, but i am fairly lean and reasonably muscular. . .however, i have no idea if my body is using oxygen any more efficiently than it ever has. . .

Swimmer/Surfer here in SoCal. Got a 7'6", goin out tomorrow at 6am.

This thread is unbelievable to read.

You do NOT need growth hormone or testosterone boosters to become an adequate surfer again. You need to get your ass back in the pool and start swimming laps until you're in enough shape to be confident out in the ocean. Join the local master's club or whatever it takes.

As far as weightlifting goes, you'll want to do more high-rep exercises, start at low weight, and focus on the shoulders, triceps, and back (I still prefer to workout the entire body, but these are most important for paddling). Stretchcords are a godsend for warming up.

For diet, you need clean foods and about 1g protein per pound of lean body mass, every day. I'm guessing around 2500 calories a day would work best, but you should post your height/weight.

Once again, take it from a surfer who's in this industry - You do NOT need growth hormone or testosterone boosters to become an adequate surfer.
