Sun tanning pill

I know trisoleran is a prescription med that increases melanin and gets you tan fast. As far as OTC, keep me tuned too.

It's a sunny situation for people who want a tan but don't want the risks of ultraviolet rays.
The current market offers a variety of methods for achieving a natural sunless tan, primarily through the use of creams or spray.
The first self-tanning creams were developed from dihydroxyacetone (DHA) as a treatment for a skin condition called vertiligo.
The first commercial tanning cream was introduced by Coppertone in the 1960s, and was long known for the odd-looking orange stain it left on one's skin.
However, technology has made tanning creams that are more natural -- darker and less orange -- and are now so advanced that many major cosmetic companies such as Clinique and Estee Lauder have developed their own products.
Sunless.com is an Internet site dedicated to helping consumers pick a tanning product that is appropriate for their skin type and coloring, and also offers tips for applying tanners as well as correcting tell-tale signs like streaking or orange palms.
MikoMatic is a sunless tanning picker offered by Sunless.com that recommends products based on skin type and provides links to the company that sells the product.
Other self-tanning options include tanning pill accelerators and accelerators, which are high in beta carotene which give carrots their orange color. At www.yearroundtan.com, tanning pill accelerators are combined with energy boosters and fat burners.
However, there is controversy over the effectiveness and safety of tanning pills. According to both Sunless.com and a teen consumer safety Web site, www.wa.gov/ago/teenconsumer/h&s/tanning.htm, tanning pills are neither safe nor effective.
Teenconsumer also claims that bronzers (or tanning creams and sprays) are simply skin stains that do not usually offer sunscreen protection.
Whether you decide to use a tanning cream or not, health experts say it is important to know that bronzers generally do not offer sunscreen protections. Self-tanners should remember that, although their skin may be temporarily tanned, they are not protected from UV rays and should use sunscreen.

Does it make you orangy or is it a good color? How long till takes effects? Once you get good color, can you cut back the dose and keep it? Any sides? Is it expensive? Sorry--sounds cool, just wanted more info.

Trisoralen just makes you very sensitive to the sun. You must be VERY careful with it though...it makes 10-15 minutes in the sun just like an entire day in the sun. You can get burned...badly. Beautiful color though...it is a natural tan.

Wow--I saw it at a script site I use--you think if the sun was the tanning bed type (that's the kind I like best) would be alright, just 5 minutes say or is that just a really idiotic thought somehow brought on by your warning???

I took them while tanning in the tanning bed. I would take 2 pills 2 hours before tanning and would only go for 5-10 minutes MAX!!!! in a 20 minute bed.

I got mine from my doctor and insurance even paid on it...
