Strong day at gym. Was it the previous Food cheat day or Creatine?

yes definitely from the cheat meals. feels good doesnt it? crazy what food can do for your body when you are depleted like that

Well crap. Today sucked.

I ate last night for today. I ate some biscuits, cole slaw and chicken from KFC. I"m still on my cutting diet so the meal I ate was specifcally for today: deadlifts.

Before I could even finish my first deadlift set I get a headache. I think they're called exertion headaches. I did some research and it seems like a lot of people get these while lifting heavy.

It totally ruined everything. I wasn't in the gym ten minutes when I had to go home. I read somewhere that it could be a lack of carobyhydrates.

I guess I'll try again tomorrow, but not before eating a sandwich before heading in.

It's definitely food.

A large carb meal is always great before a workout for performance. While I almost always have clean carbs pre-workout, a week ago I had an icecream binge before a workout and again notice the carb energy lift.

Even if your cutting, pre-workout (for weights) is still a good time to have carbs.

Okay I've since started to eat more carbs before lifting. Had a decent leg day yesterday. I made sure to get a good warmup beforehand: 20 minutes of walking and 10 minutes of stretching followed by some leg raises to stretch. Didn't get a headache thankfully.

Well christ. I went in for squat day today and felt like a monster. Did my 5x5 easily. Had so much strength and energy left I did 6x5 instead and also threw in some front squats just for good measure.

I'm still cutting weight, down 14 pounds so far. I had a large large large meal yesterday consisting of Beef and more Beef. Must have consumed 5 pounds of meat, no joke. All you can eat Korean BBQ places may not have the best cut of meats, but the quantity sure makes up for it.

I had a strong lift session today. I did squats. I didn't do more weights than I used to since I'm cutting weight, but I was able to do my 5x5 with ease and was even able to go lower than I did before. I'm literally ass to grass now.

My question is: is this due to how I ate yesterday? I've been cutting weight for about two and a half weeks now and have been weak. Yesterday I decided to eat some real food. Lot's of protein/fat (hometown buffet). Could this be the reason I felt stronger?

Or maybe it's Creatine. I received a free container of protein powder yesterday. It said there is 3grams of creatine in each serving. I've never used creatine before. AFter drinking the powder pre workout I got a certain rush. My heart pounded and I felt very energetic. Does creatine use have negative side effects?

Cliff notes: Had strong lifting day. Is it due to extra food the day before or creatine usage?

I get the same thing after a high fat high carb cheat day. If i have chinese food and a pint of ice cream for a cheat meal once a week my strength is through the roof the next morning......So is my water retention but I'm hella strong!!

I'm starting to become a fan of ingesting sugar pre-intra-post workout.

Once u get to your first important 5 rep max (DL, squat, pendlay or bench) slam some gatorade. It's certainly helping.

Oh yea I've been experimenting with high fat foods lately. Yesterday was my squat day and I felt so strong since I ate like a madman the day before. I wanted to lift more today so I ate a big avocado burger with cheese. Today's chest day was better than the last one. I was able to get the weight I was getting up before I started cutting weight. This lead me to want to do more for tomorrow's deadlift day so I went out to get lots of Mexican food. Well shit my diet is going to hell, but I'll get back onto it on Monday after I get my Deadlift day done.

Alright just finished deadlifts today.

That fat greasy Mexican food I had yesterday helped me add 30 pounds onto my deadlift 5rep max. I struggled to get the last 5reps, but got them all up. Tore a big chunk of skin off my hand though, but it's worth it.
