Stretching for Lower Back

Today was my 1RM day for Military Press. I missed 125 earlier in my workout, and decided to go back to it after chins and calves becuase i didn't want to leave the gym without hitting it. When I locked out the weight, i felt a tweak in my lower back (left side) that was really bad for about 10 seconds... Then, it somewhat subsided and wasn't as bad. It hurts a little now, but it's definitely noticeable. I am supposed to do deadlifts on Thursday, but if it hurts too much then i am not going to do it and instead do it Friday, or even Sunday if that's how long it takes for it to feel better.

Any ideas on how to stretch my back using the foam roller/conventional stretching? ANNYYY IDEAS would be awesome!

The best lower back stretch I use is on a reverse hyper. I load the pendulum up with a lot more than I can do, hop on, and let it pull my legs under me as I exhale and relax into it.

The other would be to lay belly side down over the side of a beer keg or similar sized round object and again exhale and relax into it.

Do you have a roman chair?

Get in it and bend all the way forward. Grab the support bar and pull. You should feel a good stretch in your low back.

There are some really good warm up drills in this vid. At the 5:00 mark is a good dynamic low back stretch.
