Storing protein shakes in the fridge

I always like to prepare my protein shake before I go to workout, so when I get back home after workout, it is already there waiting for me. The other day I have prepped two shakes so me and my buddy could take it right away, but he said that the protein shake should be taken immediately. Could you clarify this for me please?

Protein shakes are a milk derivative so if you are using them at room temperature, you want to drink them immediately after re-constituting the shake in liquid.

If you put them in the fridge after reconstitution, they will be good for 1-2 days.

Since you are putting the shakes in the fridge after your make them, they are safe to consume just as you are.

At room temperature - a protein shake will last about 4 hours before it will start to go bad
In a refrigerator - a protein shake will last about 2 days before it will start to go bad
