Some deadlifting advice

Felt some discomfort in lower/center back about where my belt line is. Here is what happened. after warming up,I was climbing the ladder up, 225x2,275x1,325x1,375x1, now on this last set, I pulled the weight up and locked out but on the way down, felt a bit of pain . I really dont think my form is as strict on the way down with the weight and that probably is what caused all this.It is a bit sore today but dont think to much happened. What is the best way to end the lift after you have locked it out, A controlled decent back to the floor or a more of a semi controlled drop to the floor mats?

Thanks

I don't wanna say I drop the weight, because I don't, but I sort of keep the weight steady whie it falls, so it doesn't go through the floor. :) Does that make sense?

There is no concentric in a deadlift, so don't go down slow. It ain't gonna help anything. Drop that fucker. But, nicely.

not to be picky, but...lol but the dead lift has no eccentric...no negative, it is all concentric, now that I have pointed that out I will continue organizing my sock drawer....lol

well i can't drop them or the weights will break, since i workout on a stone floor. but if you can i would recommend to do it, by all means.

Sagat, I bought a 4x6 1/2 inch rubber mat from Tractor supply for my deadlift area. Cut it down to 4x3. I workout in my basement and the concrete floor has a light carpet. Really would not want to drop it on that. Got the mat for 19.99 on clearance, dont know what they retail for..
