1) Sunscreen isn't as beneficial as you think and may in fact INCREASE skin cancer.

2) Use common sense people!! If you don't have the genetics for a tanned complexion, STOP SPENDING HOURS IN THE SUN AND TRYING TO LOOK GOLDEN! Duh!

never heard of that, the sunscreen i use has uva/uvb protection

"Dont go in the sun cause you'll get skin cancer"

Sounds like bullshit to me.

Indirectly this is promoting a sedentary lifestyle.

Fuck it, I get skin cancer I'll get that shit cut off.

OH!!

Twice a year I go to the Dermo Clinic and they freeze off my pre-cancerous sun spots. These are nasty little cracks in the skin that won't heal ... all in places I got burned over the years.

If the freeze is successful ... about 75% of the time ... I get new skin underneath that is perfect.

The other times...they have to be cut out and stitched. I use a Plastic Surgeon. I've had this done 15 times. I'm setting here now with three that will come off Aug 11th. Average stitching is 15-20 each ... internal disolving. Very little scaring. I tell people I got shot up in the war.

Big deal? No ... Perventable? Yes. All I had to do was not get burned.

u can die eating tuna also

DO NOT USE SUNSCREEN!!!

The nations with the highest rate of skin cancer are the ones who PROMOTE sunscreen use heavily. Sunscreen is not as beneficial as you are led to believe because they do NOT block UVA rays (these rays penetrate deeper into the skin). More importantly, most sunscreens contain very harmful FREE RADICAL generators in their ingredients that are activated via ultra violet light (ie the sunlight).

I prefer "Grassy Knoll Conspiracy" brand sunscreens myself :)

Good luck on Monday

So I go the the plastic surgeon dude that is gonna cut this carcinomo
shit off of my face. He comes very highly recommended etc. A good Dr.

I'm thinking no biggie, do it right there in the office surgical area under local etc.

He checks my head and reads the pathology report and tells me he won't do the surgery there in his office, and that I will need to have it done at an outpatient surgical center with IV sedation(not general) and a heavy Local. They will have a pathologist onsite to freeze the piece he takes out to slice and verify he got all of it while I wait on the table. If not, he takes more out as this type tends to grow deep roots. So I gotta wait until the end of next month to get this done.

It gets better:

Then he starts looking at my chest where my D.O. had taken the other carcinoma out, and notices a couple of red spots there, and one on my nose.
He says some medical jibberish to the nurse and then tells me I have some other pre-cancerous cells growing there and that he will be giving me topical chemotherapy creme to apply twice daily for 2 weeks.

He said it kills the fast growing cells and that the area will become "Un-Attractive" as he put it. Like I need more of that.

So now I'm thinking, do I wear hats and longsleeve shirts and use SPF 50 and look like Nathan, or do I say "SUN, KISS MY FAT ASS" and continue on as normal ?

I had a physical done last year. My family physician examined me from head to toes. He noticed some dry skin on my big toe, on top where the joint is. He said he'd prescribe some cream to apply to it because, in his opinion, it was some form of eczema. I took the prescription, threw it out, then started using a foot file to rub off the dry skin during showers as recommended by my girlfriend. Problem solved. Damn doctors.

Awesome..
Can you post up some pictures of this girlfriend before I take your word for it though ?

My grandfather goes in twice a year for a check up. Each time they find something that needs to be removed.

They think it's from all the years of playing golf. He's 89, 90 this year. Still plays too.

And yes, I slather it on and no longer tan

Whiskey

The one on my forehead is of concern because this type grows roots deep into the skin underneath. Since that skin is thin, it can even have grown into my skull etc.. They need to ensure they get all of it and then some.

Its not huge or gross on the surface(looks like a small roundish scar) just a mostly flat skin colored bumpy area smaller than a shirt button.
