Single Blade Razor???

I need a good single blade razor to prevent razor burn. All I can find at Walmart/Target is the disposable single blades by Bic. Any suggestions where I can get a good one.

Also, Mach 3 gave me horrible razor burn. Does a double blade do the same (shave in the same way, ex. Gillette Sensor) ??

not gonna know till you try bro =-/... just remember go with the grain and shave after exfoliating in the shower.

I have the same problem - tomorrow or Tuesday I'm going up to the Art of Shaving store in Columbus Circle and asking whether a single-blade razor will really help. They sell them, but the handles are kind of pricy and I don't know where (besides them) the blades are available from.

I'll let you know what they say...a friend with shaving problems went there and really recommends them.

Shaving with a single blade should definitely cure the razor burn problem. In realtion to exfoliating, do you do so every day before you shave guys??? I have sensitive skin and am concerned this could cause some redness and possible breakouts, plus I live in Florida and am constantly in the sun, so was thinking it might make me more sensitive to this aspect as well. Thanks for the help.

Well, I went to Art of Shaving and talked to one of the staff there. Basically, the guy I talked to said that the staff doesn't believe that a single blade will help with razor burn or ingrown hairs - and since they were missing out on the chance to sell me something by saying that, I believe him. They actually recommend a Mach 3, and using better pre- and post-shave care.

I did get some of their products, and I've already noticed a difference. The pre-shave oil (you put it on just before lathering up) seems to help a lot.

I also asked about exfoliation - they recommend you exfoliate in the evening, not right before shaving.

they are wrong. Exfoliate before shaving, and p.s. exfoliating in the morning is best, as you are brightening your skin tone for the day by removing excess debris and dead skin cells. In removing these dead cells and bonded contaminants/debris, you will get a smoother surface for the razor to follow, therein leading to less irritation and a smoother facial palette. wash-exfoliate-shave-moisturize. If you guys can't justify using upscale face products, I think you must try kiehls after shaving facial lotion... it's straight up godly, will make a noticable difference in how smooth your skin is.
