lol...this thread makes me think there are lots of loser men out there.

I've got no respect for a man who has no problem tipping a waitress %50 or $100 bucks but doesn't want to send a dime to his kids so they can have food and diapers.

A man like that is trash.

agreed. . .i work pretty much 7 days a week to make sure the cash is always there to meet all of my wife and kids needs. . .and i also have excellent life and disability insurance in case i work myself to death or stroke out at my desk. . .they're the most important thing in the world to me and i have all my bases covered. . .

I think men should pay child support but not in the form of money.

It should come in the form of clothes and materials which the child needs not into the female's bank account.

whichever. I don't care. Helping with medical bills which are going to be in excess of $15,000 and diapers, car seats, child care, etc would be nice, ESPECIALLY when the guy was TRYING to get the gal pregnant, as in my case.

I'm sorry. That is unfortunate. Oh right, in america, you have to pay for your doctor?? That's ridiculous!

In canada you just pay $40/month for healthcare...but even if you never pay it, you always get health care no matter what, you don't get refused.

There is absolutely no reason that man shouldn't pay child support when the baby arrives, as well as for your medical bills. You need a doctor when your pregnant! Have you been to the doctor at all? Are you able to have ultrasounds? How much does it cost for a doctor anyway??

I mean, besides the circumstances, are you happy about being pregnant and having a baby?

yeah, I'm happy with the baby and we are doing well. =-)

The ultrasounds are like $400/each. Doctor visits run me about $150/each. The delivery will be about $10,000. He was supposed to have medical insurance for me when we were engaged, but he never did it.

Now he is being a deadbeat about it.

Oh well, at least I won't have to put up with seeing him after the baby is here, this way.

I agree with this as well...there are a lot of mothers out there that are boozing and drug addicts or they are just selfish and spend the money on themselves. It would be perfect if the father brought groceries every week, took the kid(s) shopping for clothes, paid directly for healthcare, school, prescriptions, etc. or atleast paid 1/2.

My fiance's uncle is in a constant custody battle with the mother of his youngest daughter (ironically, he is the responsible parent...he is a great father, and the mother is a deadbeat). He doesn't pay child support because she spends it on herself and is always in debt, she has been bankrupt twice. Plus, right now, she is trying to go to court to get 60% of his wages garnisheed for child support.

He buys things for his daughter that she needs. He buys her really nice things, for example, he bought her a really good quality winter coat. The mother took it to the store and exchanged it for a cheaper one so she could get some extra money. how pathetic is that??
