For the last few months I have been doing tris after shoulders. I just switched it up now doing bis and tris the same day.

Since I didn't do any presses before tris my lifts were substantially higher today.

I couldn't believe how much stronger I was today.

I did overhead extensions with the EZ curl bar - 3 sets with 195 for 10.

I couldn't go any heavier because I could not get the fucking bar up. There was nobody downstairs in my gym help me lift the thing up to head level.

I had to bend down and front squat the fucking thing then sit down and then press it up. I was exhausted before my sets started.

I should have switched up my split weeks ago.

Delts before tris has definately been plateauing my tricep development.

NEED THAT HEAVY WEIGHT TO STIMULATE THOSE FOCKERS!

Then I measure my arms when I got home and they were pumped....18 1/2...another record. Of course they'll shrink 1/2 inch in the next few hours.

I also train my delts and triceps together. For me, it works pretty good. Do you train solo? If you do, find a partner who is strong and is willing to get crazy. Maybe next time, you can get 200lbs for 8. I would be careful. It is great to train the arms heavy, but with that type of weight you are susceptible to injury. What other exercises do you use for your tricep workouts? Here is my current tricep routine:

Seated Dumbbell Ext or Incline French Presses - 3 x 6-10
Cable Press-Downs - 3 x 6-10
Close Grip Bench Presses - 3 x 6-10
 
Definately do need a spotter nextime...or I'll have to set up something on a rack to make it easer to get up.

Usually do something like this(but changes every week):

Extensions 5 x 5-8
Rack Lockouts 3 x 5-8
Dips 3 x 10-12
Pushdowns 10-15

Bis & tris in same wotkout definately works for me!


also i like to "screw hit" them, meaning i do 3-4 sets of a biceps exercise followed by 3-4 sets of a triceps exercise followed by biceps - triceps etc.......

This way your biceps or triceps gets active rest of about 5 minutes before you hit it again with another exercise , yet you keep the arm pumped up and engorged with blood as you work the opposite side...

My favourite triceps exercises:

Always starting with a heavy pressing exercise choose:
a) JM press or close grip benchpress
b) pressdown
c) weighted
reprange 8-6 last set is a triple drop set

mix and match:
- lying dumbell french press 12-10 reps
- lying barbell french press supersetted with JM press using same weight
- one arm cable kickback, lying on a bench, this way you keep the torso perfectly fixed.....
- pressdown
- dips between benches
