rice cakes

never had one before in my life.....i usually just eat oatmeal or brown rice for my carbs. just bought some today....organic caramel (2g of sugars...not sure how bad that is for a typical rice cake) and it was awesome!!!!! no clue why i haven't had these before!

well, rice cakes are healthy I suppose, but are certainly something to be avoiding while on a serious cutting cycle.

2gms of sugar... how many calories total? Of the four rice cake calorie breakdowns i just found on google, look like approx 30 cals with 7g carbs, 1 g fiber... if two of those gms of carbs are sugars then:

That would mean that more than 25% of the calories you are eating in that food choice are from sugar.

Um... that sucks kinda, dont it?

the one i bought is made from organic brown rice....it's 80 cals....2g of fiber and 2 g of sugar....18g carbs.

If organic rice cakes float your boat then I say go for it. Personally I stick with the tried and true oats and brown rice. I can't seem to find any rice cakes that aren't loaded with sodium though. I might have a look for these organic ones and see what the label says though. It could make a tasty cheat day snack.

I agree they probably aren't ideal for a cutting diet, expect perhaps after a workout (although I myself do oats and whey).
