reverse grip bench

i am doing charles staley's edt arm program (you can find it and his other edt articles, which are interesting, at t-mag.com).

the 2nd arm day call for reverse grip bench. today was my 2nd arm day and i have never done reverse grip bench. when i was performing them, however, my medial delts became fatigued much more than my triceps. it pretty much felt almost like a shouler exercise with some fatigue in the triceps as if you were doing presses. anyone know what my problem may be?

Your grip may not have been close enough, you could have been too wide.

Well you were probably close enough then if you were shoulder width apart. Do you bench like a bodybuilder or powerlifter??? If you dont bench using powerlifter form then you should switch at least on the reverse grips. When you bench like a powerlifter you take out most of the chest in the movement and apply more tricep into the movement.
