Recovery

a few questions about recovery...

Any vitamins or anything that help with recovery? I am currently taking 1000mg of vitamin C a day..

How about stretching, is that good or bad?

they had a post called active recovery that cover almost all the stuff, but here are some general pointers
1) stretching after you workout helps release lactic acid and other toxins
2) Vitamin C helps boost immune system and speed general recovery
3) very hot shower or jacuzzi (sp) will help stimulate blood flow
4)food in itself can make someone heal faster and get better results.
5) enough sleep and rest

if you have some extra $, you could invest in some bands. i have some and they work great for recovery, you can also rig them up w/ the bar for certain lifts. read the sticky at the top

I will sometimes go out in my gym the day after I train a muscle and do some LIGHT stretching and warm up any sore muscles with a couple of VERY light sets.

Sleep is important and if I have a joint bothering me I will take ibuprofen/alleve after I workout. Also...I tend to take 1 regular strength ibuprofen before I got to bed on the nights after I lift...

Well.. main reason I ask is that I trained on Wed/Thur, and While my wednesday lifts are starting to heal up.. (back/legs), I am still very sore from my Thursday lifts.. (pecs/triceps/shoulders) I love it.. but still.. want it to be gone by monday for my training split!

No money for bands :( I am currently out of a job, and have 90 dollars or so to last me untill I get another paycheck, after I get another job...arg.

i hear ya about those pecs and arms from thursday,im still a little tender to but i plan on legs today and then back to back/shoulders on tue then pecs/arms on thur

i find that intense stretching after a workout helps,i didnt do it either

im on no vits at the moment because i forget to take them,i just get in good carbs and lots of protein to give the muscles everything they need

and be lazy as hell on the weekends
