Question on training single or multiple body parts?

I usually work each body part alone...chest - back - shoulders - bies and tries - then legs.
In that order and one part a day.
Mostly I see guys mixing parts in a single workout, like back and bies, chest and tries, shoulders and legs.
Is there a right way and wrong way? Does it matter if your looking to bulk up or cut up? Is that just so that they can jam 2 workouts a week on the same body parts?

If you're doing compound movements, a lot of muscle groups are worked together - chest and triceps in the bench press, back and biceps in rows, quads and glutes in squats. Some get hit more than others.

The list goes on, but if you're hitting them anyway, you might as well follow up with auxiliary work. Or so the meme goes.

Don't worry about the wrong way to do things, since the right way is the way that works best for you. Experiment. :)
