question about water

When counting water intake, do water-based beverages count? I never really bothered before (just counted plain water), but I've seen it done both ways as long as it's non-carbonated and caffiene free. My office and apartment are a little chilly, so I've been drinking a lot of (caffiene free) hot tea with a little Splenda lately. (Usually about 3-4 cups throughout the day.) I find it hard to get an entire gallon of water on top of that without running to the bathroom every five minutes.

I count it all....... I've read that foods, drinks -- caffeinated or not -- all count at least some water to your body daily.... the more water-based the food (like grapes, certain lettuces, soups, etc) the more water you count.....

I've read that when drinking anything with caffeine, you need to drink extra water because caffeine tends to dehydrate you...I don't really drink much, maybe a can of diet pop once in a while, so I never bothered to count it.

...caffeine causes a 20-30% diruresse level....so if you drink anything with caffeine - you will still retain 70-80% of what you drink.

Yup. One soda does not mean you need EXTRA water to "counteract" the soda.

Especially if you drink caffeine often. If your body is used to caffeine, then you will retain more water from it.
