Question about my bulk dieting... is it TOO much??????

come on 5540 cal. at 165.. thats rediculous.. sure if he can do it more power to him but i bet you guys at 200lbs are eating the same amount when bulking. i bet he could shave 1000cal from that diet and still be bulking up. doesnt he just have to intake 500ish more cal. then his maintanence amount?

I'm 230lbs and am currently bulking and I take in around 8-9k a day. Its not easy let me tell ya!

If your bulking up, then eat as many clean calories as possible. you wont get fat unless you take in like 12000 calories but i doubt anyone can take in 12000 clean calories a day. jay cutler eats fast food at the end of the day to get in those extra calories but the rest of his diet comes from clean foods like fish chicken red meat brown rice and oatmeal. what im trying to say is, many people want to bulk but arent eating enough. 500 cals over maintenance wouldnt get my weight up at all. i weighed 153 on sept 13. i weigh 170 one month later from eating as much clean foods as possible. meals consisted of 2 cups of oats with a dozen egg whites and 2 yolks with 2 slices of wheat bread. another meal would be 3-4 servings of whole wheat pasta with 12-16 oz of flank steak cooked rare. just get plenty of carbs and protein in each meal, eat 5-6 meals a day every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. and by the way, i still have nice abs, just eat clean and you wont get fat. Lee Priest gets fat during off season because he eats tons of bad calories when he bulks and just lift heavy, but when he gets to pre-season, all that fat comes off. it takes more work to cut off all that fat from bad calories. if you keep the calories clean, you can get cut in 6-8 weeks instead of 16-20 weeks

Here is what I am eating regularly. Of course, my information is provided in the first post of this topic. Wondering if it sounds appropriate enough for a somewhat bulk throughout time (not massively in a short amount of time). Of course this doesn't match the 5,000 calories diet I was describing in the first post in this thread but I just created this diet in hopes for some results and wondering about opinions & recommendations:

MEAL 1:
3 white eggs
1 whole egg
2 rye breads
2 scoops whey protein

MEAL 2:
Steak
2 rye breads

MEAL 3:
Chicken breast
1/4 cup brown rice
1/2 cup corn
2 scoops whey protein

MEAL 4:
Steak
1/2 cup brocoli

MEAL 5:
Chicken breast
1/4 cup brown rice
1/2 cup brocoli
2 scoops whey protein

MEAL 6:
Chicken breast
1/2 cup corn
1/2 cup brocoli

POST-WORKOUTS:
20 caps Glutamine
8 caps creatine
2 scoops whey protein
Cranberry juice

i would ditch the caps. get powder creatine and glutamine and eat as much as you can. that amount of caps is slowing your digestion and who know what else. eat more beef high fiber carbs and fat you need to add some fat it is important. eat carbs in every meal if you are bulking. eating fat before bed will help slow digestion through the night sounds like you need it.

Actually, what I do is open the caps and pour out the powder into my shakes so I don't swallow the caps. I also have fish oil which I completely forgot about lol which I forgot why I ever quit taking it [a couple weeks ago] to begin with.

That sounds pretty awesome. I went on a 5,000 bulk diet a couple of times in the past (both didn't last very long) but got very impressive results such as I was able to bring my benching up by 10+ pounds within a few weeks but the problem was I was eating a lot of dairy products such as milk & yogurt throughout the days, which I ended up gaining 20 pounds which is why I'm paranoid of going on massive cals diets but would it still be a factor if I were to try it once again and replace all the dairy products with more lean protein & fibrous carbs? Is it just that I ate too many calories or the fact these dairy products really bloats you up if you were to eat them throughout the entire day to the point you gain some extra body fat?

This was a level of concern for myself at the time when I tried this in the past. Several days ago I was determined to go back in a 5,000 calories diet just to call it quits seeing I was simply unable to intake such an enormous amount of food, a good portion being from massive carbs.

Right now I decide to try eating little more each week to see how it goes up until I get to the point I find that I am satisfied with the gains I'm getting.

I will add images shortly as well as a log.

Thanks to all that responded :)

to much dairy can bloay you up making it harder for you to eat

FRUITS?

I agree your are missing alot of inportant things that are needed to grow. IMO if you dont have fat in your diet when you bulk you wont grow FATS HELP FUEL MUSCLE GROWTH :worried:. Also i think your protein is way to high for your body weight.. If you eat to much protein your body will store it as fat no matter what... Don't go over x2lb with protein i like the carbs :D.

i eat 1 fat free yogurt a day and 2 cups of fat free milk. the rest is all from lean meat and complex carbs. dairy bloats you alot, and as long as you keep it to a minimum,, then its fine since milk and yogurt has some sugars in it, that may be why you over did it last time. you dont have to eat 5000 cals right off the bat. try 3500 for a week or 2 and if you feel like you can eat more, add another 500, etc. dont forget, after you stuff yourself, you still gotta eat in 2 1/2 -3 hours, so make sure you dont eat so much that you cant eat your next meal.
