Problems with my Deadlift.....

Since starting Westside back in June 2002 everytime I do Speed Deads on DE Day I have used a Sumo Stance.. Aside from Stiff Leg Deads of course.. Well anyways, Today I decided to finally switch over to conventional as I had planned.. Well I did 10 singles with 405, they felt light of course but I noticed I had some serious issues in my form.. So let me just make a short list of the problems I noticed:

1) Lack of leg Drive
2) Hips shooting up too fast and Legs locking too early (hence causing issue #1)
3) Unable to keep an arch in my back after grabbing the bar causing me to pull with a rounded back.
4) Trouble getting shoulders behind the bar before the pull (at least partially due to issue #3)
5) I find myself pulling straight up instead of back

Since I have no pics or video let me try to describe what a pull looked like.. I set up with the bar at over the center of my feet, I reach down and grip the bar in a stiff leg position, I drop my hips down low and begin the pull, My ass shoots up and legs lock out, I then stiff leg the bar for the vast majority of the lift..

The weight I used had nothing to do with my poor form as It was basically the same at 405, 315, 225, and 135.. All the lifts were fast, but they were just simply turned into a stiff leg dead..

So I'm left with a few questions I must answer with the help of everyone here:

1) How do I get leg drive into my lift
2) How do I keep my ass from shooting up and legs from locking out so soon?
3) What weakness Is causing that to happen?
4) How do I get a hard arch in my lower back on these? Is it a flexibility issue?
5) Should I start with the bar in a different position such as closer to me or out farther like over my toes?

Well any advice ya'll can give me is severly needed here.. I will continue for the next several weeks to do conventional speed pulls once a week to work on my form.. And as we speak I'm searching on the boards for all the video I can find of Conventional deadlifts to get an idea of where I should go from here....

If you are going to go sumo, your shins need to be touching the bar to start, unlike a conventional pull. Set your shins against the bar, drop your ass, and head up. Hope this helps. Let me know.

Actually I am just now converting over from Sumo to Conventional, hoping to take advantage of my lower back strength more.. I had ironed out all of my problems using a Sumo stance, but all of these I mentioned just popped up when I switched to conventional.......

I just converted to sumo, and I find it so much more comfortable. Did you learn sumo first? How tall are you bro?

I'm 6ft and 240 currently.. And I have deadlifted Conventional mostly before I switched over to Powerlifting, at which time I converted o Sumo.. No real reason for it.. But I don't feel as though I'm able to take advantage of my lower back strength Sumo.. Hence why I'm giving conventional a try for now......
