Posture

The board is really slow....:bawling:

Lately I've been noticing the abominable state of most people's posture, most notably what looks like the beginnings of a dowager's hump in the upper back. And it's not just folks in my age group :D. Young people might think it's cool to slump, but on anyone over 30, it looks just plain old. Most people are completely unaware they're doing it, and in many cases they've done it so long their body's adapted this as its normal posture.

Women my age spend lots of money on surgery and anti-aging treatments, but they seem oblivious to the aging of their bodies. They think being thin is all that counts, so they won't dare lift any kind of weight that might actually grow (or at least preserve) their muscle. That's unfortunate, because after a certain age being too thin can actually make a woman look older than she is, especially as the skin gets slack from muscle atrophy. Yet another reason I'm thankful for weight training, it keeps my body young.

Anyone can buy a young face :jackbox:

lol.. my father-in-law is always telling me that lifting those weights it just going to injure my back! I laugh and tell him its actually the oposite, the more i lift the stronger my back gets and the better my posture!

Good posture makes all the difference in the world. Nothing like standing up straight to make you feel better. Lots of rows and lat pull downs to help with that . I like the way lifting helps the old ta tas stay upright! Way cheaper than implants!-Valerie
