Post workout shakes

Hi guys

I am interested in what all you guys have as a post workout shake?

I have some flavourless protein isolate, an have been told to mix it with orange juice ad hve straight after training. what do you think?

Basically interested in new ideas, as i want to mix it up a bit

cheers

Post workout for me is normally 60g Whey and 60 - 120g Waxy Maize Starch (depending on what bodypart I do...for example, on leg day or back day I'll bump up the carbs to 120g where as if I'm training a smaller bodypart such as shoulders I'll just have 60g WMS).

I have this about 10 - 15 minutes after training.
Then I'll have an additional meal about 45 minutes - 1hr later which normally consists of chicken, egg whites or some other protein food source with some rice.

If I have the cash, I'll add 10g of Glutamine Peptides, 5g of Creatine and 5g of BCAA.

PWO meals are pretty crucial, but really you just need protein and carbs. I like to get the bulk of my calories first thing in the morning and post workout.

i saved my flavorless to mix in my oatmeal for breakfast. i tried all kinds of other things for pwo and didnt like any with the flavorless.

cytogainer as soon as i get home from the gym. close to 800 calories.

50g protein always.

also add between 80 - 150g - dextrose

150g?! Not to knock you, but that seems excessive. All we are looking for is the blood sugar spike to drive nutrients and protein into the muscles right? 150 in one sitting will spill over into fat storage. Plus after straight weight training, glycogen levels really aren't that depleted. 60-80g is plenty. But if it works for you, no need to change it I guess.

That's got to be one big ass drink. A serving of BIG BLAST has 40 grams of protein( though the protein is far superior and "useable" than anything mentioned) and 22 total grams of carbs, 12 of which are natural sugars and 6 grams of that which is dextrose. And it's pretty sweet! 150 grams of dextrose? You might as well eat a carton of candy bars.
