Post-CARDIO nutrition?

Lumberg

New member
Hey I know there is a lot of info on post-weight training nutrition but are there any special considerations for post-cardio nutrition? basically trying to maintain muscle mass while losing some fat.

well when i do morning cardio im usually on a CKD, so this might not interest you...

but I wait atleast 45min after HIIT to eat... then I usually have some fish oil caps w/ a protein shake in water... otherwise, ill grab some peanuts or eggs or something...

the basic rule should be med fat, med protein, low carb... high carbs would negate the effects of cardio (well at least in my insulin resistant body).

OK sweet, that's pretty much what I've been doing. (just waiting and having a normal meal)

Thanks

I don't do ckd. but, after cardio, I have a lot less carbs andprotein that normal. I have a shake w/ 35g Protein and 15g sugar 30 min post cardio. Then an hour later my normal breakfast. This is what I do after morning cardio on non-lifting days. On lifting days, I do 30 min cardio after lifting, so I have the standard high carb+high protein shake, about 60g protein and 40g(I have about 75-100g low-glycemic carbs about an hour before training... so I don't need crazy amt's of carbs) carbs. This is what works for me.
