Painkillers Impact on Workout

Well, heres the story. My doctor prescribed my Hydrocodone for my chronic back pain, and I cant step foot into the gym without taking it. Ive been taking it for some time now, and was wondering whether this has any negative effect on muscle growth. Yes, I know this is a highlive addictive drug and all the negative things associated with it.

For me when I've been on opiates for any period of time it just makes me a little lethargic in the gym but I can't tell that its catabolic or anything. They do diminish my appetite and keep me awake so that is an idirect effect.

wait

Not too much May happen while on vicoden but just wait until you want to stop using them and lets say give it a few weeks and you will wish you were on them all the time. No one that I know likes to have severe pain and the body looks for relief. Our instinct is to accomplis things and will usually stop at nothing to get it done and that includes going back to using the stuff.
Try to work out 1 week without taking any and if you make it then you still have control of your self if not then you will know
you have a weakness you should work on.

I hope this helps.

peace!

Your best bet is to send them to me. I will take them before my next workout and let you know if it effected me.

The only prob I could see is that with the painkiller dulling the pain, you might go farther than you actually would when you weren't on it. So you might end up screwing your back up more and not even knowing until the next day or so. I wouldn't risk it if I was you

Not quite sure if they can make an impact on gains, but they made me tired and i would usually have poor workouts the day after. I found that when i got serious about training i had to cut them out... Then again i was using them for recreation and not actual pain.

This might sound odd, but they actually give me better workouts. Considering I dont feel the pain as much, I get off more reps and even more weight. My only question was do they have a negative impact on muscle growth. im aware of all the other negative side effects.

I have tried doing that, got some left over from left over scripts. The worse is a drug called Talocen that I have, it makes me sit here and drool on myself. Drugs affect me too much. I have to eat them because I hurt myself sometimes. I got a couple scripts of Ibuprofen from doctors, I don't go back to that doctor. When I am in pain I want more than strong aspirin.

I get too lethargic, just feel like sleeping on meds. But once in awhile they are nice
