1 more day!

My drink of choice right after weighins is Pedialyte. I have weighed in at various stages of dehydration (I always have to come down to make weight). Then I eat something REALLY salty, like instant soup or something. Fruit (especially bananas), protein bars, gatorade, water, and skittles make up the rest of the meet food for me :)

Fortunately, I don't have any problems with nerves and can eat as per usual. During the day, since I play at night, I make sure I eat mainly carb based meals (as opposed to fat based meals, with protein being a constant). My pre-game meal is a shake about 1.5 hours before KO:

1 large banana (and some strawberries if available)
500ml milk
2 scoops protein powder (about 20g)
Lots of salt and potassium

Also take 500mg Vitamin C.

Up until KO, starting 30 minutes before, I drink about 1L of Powerade (about 40gs of carbs worth) with added and salt/potassium. I have another drink bottle with the same thing in it that I drink throughout the game. I also have as much plain water as I feel like.

Pedialyte sounds like it does the business brilliantly, so stick with it :)

What I had before my last strongman comp was steak and eggs; oh, and a side of potatoes. We got up at 6AM, my bf began cooking and we had plenty of time before the weigh-in of the comp. And I was able to sit back, enjoy the breakfast, have some coffee, answer some emails and relax.

Man, that's what I'll have from now on before any type of comp. Steak and eggs, babee. I was ready to conquer the world after that meal.

I remained hydrated through the day via Powerade and water. Didn't lose any energy at all.

On the way to Bluegrass, I had a quarter-pounder and powerade in the car.

Then brought extra powerade and McDonaldLand cookies for during the contest.

Oh, and 2000mgs ibuprofen.:D
