Still working on increasing my OHP both on the log and the thick bar. I plan to alternate them every week till I find a contest to do and then I will focus on one or the other. My general idea for the plan is to do the following:

Thick Bar Clean and Press:5x5
Log Clean and Press: 5x5
Thick Bar: 5x3
Log: 5x3
Thick Bar: 5x1
Log: 5x1

Of course this can and probably will change as I see how my body is reacting to it..I may alternate 5x5 and 5x3...or may just alternate the 5x5's with a light, medium, and heavy week among them. Not sure just yet.

Thick Bar Clean and Press
several warm ups
185 for 5x5 (light week but my thick bar is HARDER than most)

2 Board Press with mini bands doubled
135 x 5
225 x 5
275 x 1
315 x 1
225 x 5 close grip...no boards

Lying Dbell Tric Exts
45's x 8 x 4 sets
my 2nd set

Chins
BW x 6 x 2 sets

Lat Pull Downs (mini band added)
25 and mini band x 20
50 and mini band x 15

Face Pulls (mini band added)
25 x 20
35 x 20

Cable Curls...to get the blood into my biceps...
light and high reps...

Front and Side abs...

That was it for me...I hope to add the light bands instead of the mini's next week on 2 board press...it should be FUN to say the least...:)

Wow is that really closegrip for you? Thats almost as wide as my regular bench! :D

Yeah, his closegrip definately looks like my regular bench also.

B, just curious, any reason to lift so quickly? I usually stress the negative, and even my positive is slower than yours. Training explosively for Strongman, maybe? I don't really know.

Regardless, impressive work.

The 'Close Grip' was the same grip as my speed bench. I could touch my entire thumb onto the smooth part of the bar. My normal bench grip is pinky on the power rings.

The bands MAKE you move quickly...and till you use the bands...you just forget what they do to the bar. It is really strange. It isn't just 70 pounds added onto the bar...it is 70 pounds PULLING you down and not wanting you to go back up...so you must move quickly.

Remember...if you were moving FASTER through your sticking point...you would not get stuck there...you would blow right through it.
