Oats - stupid question

For those of you who have 'oats' in your regular diet for carbs, what exactly do you eat? Are you talking about oatmeal? I've also seen folks refer to 'steel oats'...not sure what those are either.

What brand/type of oats should I get to add them in?....I need a good clean carb source for the AM.
THanks!

Steel cut oats have been cut into pieces. They're the inner most portion of the oat. Steel cut is more chewier and has more nutrition due to the fact it still has pieces of the bran layer in it. They also take longer to cook.

Rolled oats are what you probably grew up eating. It's just the groat that has been rolled flat into flakes and has had the bran layer removed.

Oatmeal, rolled oats etc everyone uses something different just buy ones that don't have the added sugar n fruits etc n ur all sweet
